Check frequently asked questions about Allergy Medication

Open Question: Can untreated [environmental/nasal] allergies make you feel constantly lethargic?

I can't afford prescription medications and my exposure to my triggers is inevitable (I have allergy symptoms almost every day). I always feel totally drained and, as a result, apathetic and depressed. My chronic fatigue has honestly ruined the quality of my life and I'd be ecstatic if I knew it could be resolved simply by treating my allergies. I appreciate any serious responses. If I was convinced that my allergies were causing my chronic fatigue, I would move to a region that doesn't give me such severe symptoms.

Resolved Question: Should I be concerned about a low heart rate?

I am a 57 year old female. Had carpal tunnel surgery with twilight last week. In the recovery room, the nurses were concerned that my heart rate was consistently below 50 and my blood pressure was below 100. I had an EKG pre-op and it was fine. I walk a lot, but am not an athlete, am not overweight, do not have diabetes, and my blood pressure is usually around 100/70. My thyroid was tested recently on a physical and was fine. I am not taking any medications, except occasionally for seasonal allergies. The nurses every acted like this was very unusual, but I felt normal. Operation went fine with no problems. Is there any cause for concern? Should I discuss this with my internist?

Voting Question: bad runny nose for the past few days now, how do i get rid of it?

Some days I believe it's my allergies, and others it's probably a icy. Either way my nose is constantly running(especially when I'm sitting and sleeping)and won't cease. What are some easy ways I can receive rid of it or relieve it that doesn't involve medication?

Voting Question: I think I had an allergic reaction to my sunscreen?

Just 3 days ago I went on a hike and I used Neutrogena'a Ultra-sheer dry touch sunblock SPF 30+, I had never used this before but when I applied it initially ont he day, it was fine. So I used it yesterday as a daily sunblock too but this morning I woke up with significant red rash on my cheeks and bumps around my jawline and forehead. It's itchy too. I think it's because of the sunscreen. What should I do? I've asked this question before but I wanted to receive more opinions. Also, now it is a day after the initial reaction and I feel like my skin is calming down a bit but it's still itchy and red at places. I've also realized my entire facial skin is covered in like little goosebumps you receive when you're icy. I'm really not sure what to do to help it. I don't want to take any medication. Also, could it be the sunscreen mainly? I'm sure it had something to do with it. But my mum washed every my bed sheets the day before I had the allergy, could it be something from there?

Voting Question: Ringing in my right ear every other day?

I went to the hospital early in August because I had a few panic attacks. First thing the Doc noticed was my Thyroid seemed a bit big. He said it was a goiter if I am not mistaken. They did a CBC & Platelet Count, Basic Metabolic Panel, T3 Free, T4 Free, and a TSH Screen. I was prescribed 10mg Inderal but I have not taken any. I was worried if In still have asthma and I forgot to tell the doctor. Is it possible that the swelling can go away without the need for any medication? I have not felt like myself this whole month and I seem to be extra sensitive to anything I consume. My allergy pills that I use to take in the past never made me drowsy. Now when I take them I receive extremely drowsy. Could that be due to the goiter? These past few weeks I have noticed an irritating ringing in my right ear. About every other day I hear it. My heart palpitations have not been nearly as bad. I forgot to ask the doctor theses questions because I was out of my mind. My memory was horrible and I honestly couldn't think at every. If you are able to answer every question to assist me then I'll give you the best answers! Thanks!

Voting Question: can i sleep safely after taking zyrtec and benadryl back to back?

i've (in the past) called a pharmacist and was informed that i could take a 24 hr allergy medication (ex: zyrtec) with benadryl which only works for 4-6 hrs. i've read some articles online which contradict this. i don't normally receive any drowsier than normal on either or both together for that matter (i have some abnormal lack of stamina, but medication often doesn't increase or decrease it, nor does caffeine give me energy for that matter.) i just took zyrtec and benadryl at the same time now, as i am having severe itchy burning throat to the point of physically shaking. it's subsiding a bit now at least, but still gift. can i safely snooze now or was the internet right and was this perhaps too much and should i stay awake for a bit longer for my possess safety?

Resolved Question: Exposed to Bacterial Meningitis, and then some?

I work in the ER and was in the same room with a patient that was diagnosed with bacterial meningitis [prior to knowing the diagnosis]. I was in the room for about 3 minutes max, and only may have touched his wrist. I sanitized my hands after leaving the room. About 3 hours later when we found out he had b. meningitis, I took a single dose of Cipro, 500 mg. for a prophylaxis. My question is how much should I worry about contracting it? Also with the single dose, would it be acceptable if I had 2-3 alcoholic drinks 24 hours after I took the medication, or is that not advised? I am also 24 year old male, relatively healthy. [hypothyroidism, allergies] and an FYI I did not wear a mask in the room due to the undiagnosed disease.

Resolved Question: Sudden non-stop bloating?

I've been googling this for hours and keep coming across people complaining about getting bloated after eating - that's not the problem I have. It may be due to my diet but I haven't changed my diet recently, it's been pretty much the same varied diet in ages. I haven't eaten anything new either so it can't be an allergy. The past four days I have been excessively, painfully bloated. It's killed my appetite and I'm drinking pint after pint of water but it's doing nothing. I can't really afford medication and I'd just like to know if this is normal, if it will go away, why it's happening. Also, I can't actually produce anything on the toilet now. I was regular before, going once every day, now there's nothing. What is going on?? It hurts.

I have allergies that have worsened over the years. Claritin used to take care of it. Now it seems some days it does nothing. I'm heavier now that I used to be. I have severe severe allergies which are not really aided by the more conventional medications for them - I take no more than 2 12.5 MG tablets every 12 hours typically right before I go to bed (not as a snooze aid - I have no issues getting to snooze, with out the diphenhydamine my nose fills with mucus and I receive a very very sore throat and it becomes difficult to breath.) - the only issue is I have been on this medication for roughly a year and I am wondering if there are any possible side effects that I should be worried about related to the long term use?

Resolved Question: THIS IS MY COLLEGE APPLICATION ESSAY, IS IT READY TO BE SENT TO COLLEGES?

I would like to share with you something about my current medical situation. Ordinarily I would not do so, as I am an intensely private person, but I now accept that my physical limitations have quite possibly impacted my high school performance in a negative manner, and I feel that it is only fair that you have this information. Therefore, I am reluctantly going to allow access to information that I would never, otherwise, talk of. For the past several years, I have been afflicted by a physical situation that has sometimes interfered with my ability to focus, both in the classroom and out. I do not wish to be too specific about the symptoms of my disease, except to say that they are digestive in nature and sometimes require me to spend long periods of time in the Mens Room. Despite my terrible discomfort, I refused to accept that there might be something wrong with me, and would not seek treatment. I know now that I should have been less determined to suffer in silence and more willing to accept help. Finally, my parents insisted on bringing the matter to the attention of a physician. I was tested, over a period of several weeks, for colon cancer, Crohn’s Disease, intestinal obstructions, diverticulitis, ulcerative colitis, gastroesophageal reflux disease, Barrett’s esophagus, Heliocobacter pylori (commonly known as ulcer), celiac sprue (commonly known as wheat allergy), lactose intolerance, gallstones, bile duct stones, sclerosing cholangitis (the narrowing of the bile ducts), “Sphincter of Oddi” dysfunction and pancreatitis. You can imagine how relieved I was to learn that I had none of these terrible diseases. Finally, I received the diagnosis of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). IBS is sometimes known as spastic colon, nervous colon, nervous stomach, mucous colitis and spastic colitis, and is distinguished by abnormal bowel habits, such as diarrhea (loose stools), constipation or sometimes, as in my possess case, both. It is well known to experts in this field that periods of stress can intensify the severity of IBS. I have certainly found my busy schedule of six honors/AP classes, Varsity field hockey, swimming and track teams, performing guide roles in three consecutive Spring Musicals, volunteering at the local animal shelter, tutoring at-risk kids, and working three evenings a week plus every day Saturday at The Gap to be, at times, stressful, but of course it is impossible to say what has caused me to be afflicted with this very horrible syndrome. Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS or spastic colon) is a diagnosis of exclusion. It is a functional bowel disorder characterized by chronic abdominal pain, discomfort, bloating, and alteration of bowel habits in the absence of any detectable organic cause.[1] In some cases, the symptoms are relieved by bowel movements.[2] Diarrhea or constipation may predominate, or they may alternate (classified as IBS-D, IBS-C or IBS-A, respectively). IBS may start after an infection (post-infectious, IBS-PI), a stressful life event, or onset of maturity without any other medical indicators. Although there is no cure for IBS, there are treatments that attempt to relieve symptoms, including dietary adjustments, medication and psychological interventions. Patient education and a good doctor-patient relationship are also important. Several conditions may gift as IBS including celiac disease, Fructose malabsorption,[3] mild infections, parasitic infections like giardiasis, several inflammatory bowel diseases, functional chronic constipation, and chronic functional abdominal pain. In IBS, routine clinical tests yield no abnormalities, though the bowels may be more sensitive to certain stimuli, such as balloon insufflation testing. The exact cause of IBS is unknown. The most common theory is that IBS is a disorder of the interaction between the brain and the gastrointestinal tract, although there may also be abnormalities in the gut flora or the immune system. IBS does not guide to more serious conditions in most patients. But it is a source of chronic pain, fatigue, and other symptoms, and it increases a patient's medical costs, and contributes to work absenteeism. Researchers have reported that the high prevalence of IBS, in conjunction with increased costs produces a disease with a high societal cost. It is also regarded as a chronic illness and can dramatically affect the quality of a sufferer's life. In fact, doctors do not know what causes IBS, or why people who share my disease feel the need to have a bowel movement soon after eating, causing diarrhea, or why the prolonged spasm of the big intestine causes stool to stay in one area for too long and receive dried out, resulting in tiny difficult stools (constipation). As of today, palliative treatments are only in the experimental stage, and the difficult truth is that there is no cure for IBS. It has been very difficult for me to accept this diagnosis at my young age

Resolved Question: are allergy medications addictive?

I currently use Zyrtec (I don't know if they have it in America, but they do in Europe) for a carrot, dog (strong), cat (weak), dust (weak) and pollen allergy. My parents are trying to make everything so I use the medication as little as possible, so the weakening process doesn't happen. And I want to know, is the medication addictive? I know that I have a nice of psychological appeal to it, because whenever I use it, I feel more confident. P.S. If you don't know what I mean by weakening process, I mean that if you use something (in this case, allergy medication) constantly and on a long run, so the effect becomes weaker.

Resolved Question: Cat has chronic nasal discharge?

My cat started sneezing and getting nasal discharge from the left nostril mid June. I took him to the vet and they recommended a teeth cleaning. They gave him an antibiotic shot but it didn't help with the infection. They said if I didn't receive dental work done for him the infection would likely reoccur. So I scheduled a dental. He got his teeth cleaned and ended up having three teeth extracted, and they were every on the left side (same side as the discharge). He first took an oral antibiotic that made him sick, so they gave him a different one. Within a week, he was still not responding to the antibiotic. They then gave him antibiotic injections every other day and we continued another round of the oral antibiotic. This time I noticed great improvement. The discharge seemed to mostly cease for about two weeks, but I'd hear him sneeze every once in a while with slight clear discharge. Three days ago the infection returned worse than ever. He started having extremely noisy breathing and it sounded like mucus from his nose was going down his throat. I tried having him snooze with a humidifier and squirted saline solution in his nose, but it didn't make any difference. I called the vet again and he recommended a nasal flush. My cat went into today and was put below to have the nasal flush. He did well with the surgery. The doctor said there was A LOT of mucus build-up on the left side and it was really backed up. He flushed it every out. My cat is being held overnight with a catheter that's medicating him and another IV with fluid just to receive the medication into his system faster. They say he's doing much better... still a little noisy breathing though. The vet is going to give him some nasal antibiotics tonight to look how he responds. Then we will give him the nasal antibiotics and the oral antibiotics to look if the infection clears. The vet recommends we receive an x-ray if the infection goes away and returns once more. Have any of you had anything similar with your cat? Do you think the bad teeth was the root of the problem in the first place, or do you think there's a secondary cause? Is it common for infections to arrive back? I'm thinking with my cat, the infection never completely cleared up in the first place and returned worse when we stopped the antibiotics. Here's a few things that make me wonder.... 1.) He was on Iams diet for his whole life until two months ago. We gradually switched him to Blue Buffalo. Now I'm gradually switching him to Wellness. Could his nose problem be an allergy to this new food? I've wondered if he's allergic to Blue Buffalo because I'm still mixing that with the new food. His nasal discharge started after I gave him Blue Buffalo. 2.) We had water damage in the basement from a cracked foundation in the spring and had new drywall and carpet put in around the same time he got the nose problem. We had a lot of dust down there from replaced sheetrock. We had to rip out tiles too. It's every cleaned now. 3.) A week and a half ago we had the ceiling replaced in the kitchen due to some more water damage. A lot of insulation fell out and there was a lot of dust. I cleaned it every up. This is about the time I noticed him sneezing again and then a week later the infection was worse than ever. The home is every done and cleaned up and we replaced the filter. We probably do need to receive our vents cleaned professionally though, and I'm looking into that. Do you think these things could have caused the back up in the nose? Or was it from the teeth? Or a combination of everything? I worry so much he might have a nasal tumor, but he has had a lot of environmental changes and of course he had the bad teeth. The doctor checked today when the cat was put below for any missed infected roots or leftover pieces of teeth, but there were none. I'm just worried about my cat. He's my baby and I've had him for 11 years. Any advice would be appreciated.

Resolved Question: Cop after obtaining illegal prescription drug online?

Years ago I used a prescription nasal spray (rhinocort), that I was able to buy online (from China or whatever) without a prescription. I didn't have much money, and I needed it for allergies. It caused visible damage to my nasal septum, so I'm sure I'll have to explain it. Now I want to apply to several police departments. Do you think I'll be disqualified for obtaining a prescription-only medication illegally online? It's not a controlled substance but it is script-only, don't know how serious they consider that to be. Thanks. Going on a ride along tomorrow WOO HOO! ;)

Resolved Question: What Ingredients should be in a Hypoallergenic dog food ?

i have a two and a half year old golden retriever and i been noticing even when she is on flea medication like the advantage she still itches i know its not hot spots because she has no red patches but looking at her skin i noticed tiny red bumps and very dry skin when i took her to the vet she suggested omega 3 fatty acids which i brought salmon oil and salmon puffs but she was still itching and her coat is very thinning not full like a golden should be . I changed her food from science diet for the big breed to royal canine for golden retrievers but i think she has a food allergy from corn and wheat which are two ingredients in her royal canine .I know at one to three food allergies commonly affect goldens so my question is does anyone know the ingredients that are supposed to be in a hypoallergenic food and any good food for dogs that have allergies . i work at petsmart so any food you might name expensive or not i can find it and i receive a discount so price doesn't matter thanks .

Resolved Question: However do you decide?

My boyfriend wants to wait until our current puppy at 5.5 months GSD/ husky cross grows up a bit before getting another dog. I'm with him almost 24/7 and I know him like the back of my hand and he is totally one of the most social dogs I have ever known. every he wants to do is play and hang out with other dogs. We socialize him lots and have started to have play-dates with other dogs, but he cries when they leave and waits by the gate, thinking that they will arrive back. How do you decide when to receive your other dog? There is a puppy at the SPCA right now that would be a stunning match for my puppy. He met her through the glass door to her room there and he laid down, attempted to smell her and touch noses with her. It was so darling!!!! Here's her picture: http://i978.photobucket.com/albums/ae264/lilyannie/31684.jpg I have to be so careful at what our next dog will be because I'm allergic to dogs- like I'm allergic to our puppy [I have to take asthma medication and allergy medication just to be in the same room as him]- it sucks. I don't know what to do. I really really like this girl dog at the pound and my dog seems to receive along with her, but my boyfriend wants to wait. Obviously, I won't receive her because I want him to 100% fine with it, but still. Ugh. He keeps giving me mixed messages though saying stuff like "oh, I'm surprised that you didn't bring home another puppy today" and stuff like that. What would you do? ~~ No- I needed to hear people tell me that I shouldn't do it- I'm sitting here and having trouble breathing because we had a playdate this evening with another dog- a spaniel of every things. I just think of my needy puppy, being lonely. Instead, I will just buy him some agility equiptment and train him for that- maybe when he gets older we will receive another dog that is a purebreed- known hypoallergenic. Thanks guys for a kick in the reality butt- I need it occasionally. ~~

Resolved Question: Is it safe to take presciption pain medication after taking over the counter cold/allergy medication?

I came down with a mild icy/fever over the weekend and i'm also recovering from a shot i took in the bottom of my foot, so after taking some pills(standard OTC night time pills) for my icy, i was wondering if it was safe to take my medication because i'm also incredibly sore! If not is OTC(advil, tylenol) safe? The icy medicine adds up to 650mg of acetaphenomine(?) so i decided to just go with one tylenol which is 500 mg, and i'm guessing that should do the trick. Sorry if i don't pick you as best answer, i'm lazy, you'll receive it automatically in a couple of days lol.

Voting Question: Severe throat and tonsil pain?

Last month I started getting sore throats out of nowhere. Concentrated almost entirely on the left side, and made worse by swallowing, eating, or drinking. I went to the doctor about this, and was pretty much dismissed after a strep/infection test came back negative. I was told it was likely allergies, and prescribed medications for allergies. I did take these, but my throat seemed to clear up for the most part before I started taking them. Thus I stopped taking them a couple weeks ago. Now as of yesterday, I seem to have gotten the same symptoms back, though even stronger this time. Pain concentrated around the left side of my throat and tonsil, and somewhat spreading to my ear. It's quite painful to swallow or talk because of that, and I went to the doctor again today, but was dismissed with what they called allergies again. When I look down into my throat in a mirror, I can tell the left side my throat, around on and on that tonsil looks very inflamed. I highly doubt this is just allergies, as I have no nasal symptoms or anything else. Are there any other possible causes that don't seem to be able to register on a strep test?

Resolved Question: My mom won't leave. How can I get rid of her?

When I was 17, my mom threw me out of the home because I was allergic to her cat. I'm 21 now and have been on my possess ever since then. I put myself through community college and now have a very tiny 1 bedroom apartment. In early 2008, my mom lost her job and her home was foreclosed. I let her move in with me until she could receive back on her feet. Now she has a new job and is making more than enough to move into her possess place but she won't leave. She refuses to help me pay for the rent or any of the bills, I'm living from pay check to pay check and sometimes don't have $10 for my gas tank. every she does when she comes home from work is drink. She brought her 2 dogs and a cat into my apartment and my allergies are insane. She doesn't feed them and I have to spend my money to feed them and take them to the vet. Also, she doesn't clean up after herself so the place is a mess. I work 8 hours a day then go to a night classes at the college and arrive home to piles of beer bottles, food spilled everywhere in the kitchen, and she's passed out drunk in front of the tv EVERY NIGHT. She tells me daily that I will never resort to anything and that i'm wasting my time trying to build a life for myself (she mentally abused me my whole life) My mom has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and has been in and out of the mental hospital and she won't take her medicine because she thinks the pills are mind control devices from the government. I feel really bad asking her to leave because she is not mentally stable but I can't take it anymore. Also, she lies to her doctors and says she's taking the medication and acts glad in front of them so they think everything is ok.

Resolved Question: sick with no symptoms?

I have been feeling sick for a few years now but I never show any symptoms so almost everyone thinks I am a hypochondriac. I have never had a fever in my life & the blood pressure that I have when I go to the doctors is the BP that almost everyone would adore to have. I am considered obese & have the total opposite symptoms...I have low blood pressure & low sugar level. Usually when a person eats it raises their BP & heart rate, but it does the opposite for me. Most people will have a higher sugar level after eating, but if mine is high & I eat it will receive lower. I have been on a lot of medicines for migraines & other things & they only work for a short time...because of this I had to have brain surgery for my epilepsy because I had been on almost every the meds & they stopped working. I am starting to have more allergies to foods & medications that I didn't use to have & when I am in pain there is almost no medication that will help. The only medical person that agrees with me that something is wrong is my family doctor. My psychiatrist & psychologists & the ER & the heart specialist every tell me that there is nothing wrong (because they don't look the symptoms) & act like I am making it every up to receive attention. I was wondering if there is anyone that could tell me what might be causing this.

Resolved Question: why are my ankles and feet swelling up?

Recently discharged from the hospital w/COPD emphysema exacerbation and a minor bout with pneumonia. Discharge meds were cefuroxime(Ceftin)-antibiotic500mg simvastatin(Zocor)-cholesterol10mg prednisone(Deltasone)draw down medication over 8days30/20/10/5mg 2days @ clonazapam(Klonopin0.5mganti anxiety/snooze aid/relaxant Salmeterol Discus(Advair)/Combivent Inhaler(albuterol ipratroprium) & a multivitamin Now-still taking the prednisone(5th day)w/3 to go. While in the hospital(10 days "I had no problem with swollen ankles or feet at every". Now that I am home 7days my feet and ankles are really swollen-not really tender but will retain an impression if I press on them. Also, I have been experiencing burning stabbing pains intermittently in the upper front portion of my right leg from the crotch joint to the knee.Several times these pains were serious enough to be debilitating. I should mention that if I squeeze my foot or ankles on the right led I can create the burning stabbing painful sensation in my upper leg. I am also on 2 ltr oxy 24/7 and am relatively sedentary(sofa potato) and housebound. Is it possible that Some of the medications that I am on could be causing the problem? My appetite is voracious and my attitude is extremely positive except for the fact that I have fat feet! I am very slim-weighed 98lbs when I entered the hospital and gained 11 lbs there and am still picking up weight but I feel now that some of it might be water retention. oh-I should mention that I have no known allergies and am male/64 years old 5'11" Has anyone had similar experiences as mine? I most likely will be speaking with my PCP soon so please don't suggest that I call my MD- just wondering if I might be reacting to some of the medications. Thanks for considering replying to my question... Tony Zalvis III (me)

Open Question: I am feeling nauseous all the time.. help?

For the past year or more, I have been feeling nauseous very easily. I receive nauseous after almost every meal I eat. I don't know if this has to do with any allergies or if I have been eating too much. I've only thrown up once from the nausea but I am sick of being nauseous every day at school and feeling miserable. Last year when I was feeling nauseous I think it was from taking my medication, doxycycline, in the morning on an empty stomach. After feeling the side effects of this I began taking the pills at night and the nausea went away for a little bit. I started feeling sick again over the summer when I had to wake up early in the morning for my job. Yesterday morning I took a fish oil pill and was nauseous the relax of the day. I couldn't eat and when I looked at food I felt like I was going to toss up. I was still nauseous when I woke up this morning and couldn't have breakfast. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHATS WRONG WITH ME?? I hate this feeling of being nauseous almost 24/7

Open Question: Allergy, my mom won't stop coughing, please help?

our family is below a lot of stress, mostly financial, my mom develops a dry cough every couple of years due to stress, she coughs every day, it's to the point that it is very disturbing to me because it's turning into something that my ears repel at this point. I don't want to offend her by telling her that it's driving me insane but I do suggest she look a doctor, she tells me it's difficult to find a medication that wont cause drowsiness or that won't affect the fact that she takes blood pressure meds. I'm going crazy hearing her cough, it's a dry cough, we know it's not a icy or virus, it's just an allergy type thing that is triggered by stress. could anyone please recommend something or some medication without drowsiness that might end it?

Open Question: Is it possible to OD from Mucinex?

I have had the worst mucus problem ever since allergy season kicked in. So I went to a pharmacy and got some Mucinex, and popped a couple of pills this morning. But then I realized that Mucinex has a certain... characteristic to it. I started feeling VERY odd. After talking to my pal, he explained that having too much Mucinex can cause one to feel a very strong "high." I have never participated in doing drugs in my life, so I had never been high before. However, I soon began worrying about the effects; I did not go to work because I would be unable to steer. I am still feeling odd, but luckily not as odd as before. I am still a bit worried though; what is in Mucinex that causes me to be like this? I don't want to have an overdose, although evidently I ingested too many pills. I took one last night at around 11:30. Then I woke up at 3:45 with a terrible cough, and took one there. An hour later after getting no snooze and feeling no different (the cough remained), I took ANOTHER one. My mistake. 6:00 this morning, I was feeling slightly better, but STILL not convinced. So I took two more to be safe. I figured that Mucinex was not very strong, because after a night with almost no snooze and three pills, I felt almost no difference, and I have VERY bad allergies. So after FIVE pills, at 6:17 A.M., something kicked in. I started feeling the odd feeling that I discussed earlier, and thus got high. I will never do this again, and will ask my doctor about a different medication. However, I have to go back to the main question: will I die from an overdose? Is five pills too many? And how does this affect the brain to make such a 'high' happen in the first place?

Resolved Question: It feels like I'm going to cough up blood? =[?

I'm on the cross country team, and it's very dusty where we practice. This week I stopped taking allergy medication because I forgot it at my grandparents, but that's just to prevent allergy symptoms. Anyways, the past two days my lungs feel odd, not like it's full of phlegm but just a really dry feeling, and I've been coughing alot which has becoming much more painful. I know it's because of the dust. I can't cease running, and I have a race on Friday. I take hot showers and drink tea, but my lungs don't feel any better. How do I clear out my lungs for the race? Also, I'm a slow runner so it's inevitable to avoid the dust...
